Kate Sparkes was born in Hamilton, Ontario, but now resides in Newfoundland, where she tries not to talk too much about the dragons she sees in the fog. She lives with her husband, two kids who take turns playing Jeckyll and Hyde, and more pets than are strictly necessary. Depression has almost consumed her more times than she likes to admit, but writing Fantasy (be it epic or urban, fairy tales or superhero cat stories) keeps her afloat… most of the time. Her first novel, Bound, was released in June 2014, followed by Torn in March 2015 and Sworn in January 2016. Her most recent work is the Immortal Soulless series under the name Tanith Frost.

Thanks! I do, too. That’s why I posted mine (or rather, this book’s)- didn’t want to waste it. It’s starting to look like it’ll be included now, anyway, but I think I’ll keep the blog title. 😉

Hi Kate, I think we lost touch when I changed my blog from Jade Reyner (pen name – Jade’s Jungle) to AnnMarie Wyncoll, real name. I have just found you again and I want to say HUGE congratulations on the success that you have achieved so far. I also want to say how much I love your covers! I have decided to self-publish again and this time it’s a totally different trilogy – hoping to get the first book out in January. Yes, totally lost track of you there! So nice to reconnect! I’ve been horrible about finding time for blog reading lately.
I usually say ages 15+ for the Bound trilogy, but I know eleven and twelve year olds who have read it. It depends on the reader, really. There’s no explicit sex, but there is sex. There’s no drawn-out, graphic violence, but there is violence and blood. Mature YA, basically.
Into Elurien is new adult, so it’s a bit sexier. Not erotica, but I’d say 16+ minimum.

Yes, great to be back in touch! Thanks for the age info, my eldest is 13yrs (going on 21yrs!) so I may look into your books for him – perhaps he needs to be a bit older though. I’ll definitely bear them in mind and as I said, I love the covers 🙂
