COVER REVEAL: Reunion of the Heart by Elaine Jeremiah

Hello hello, and welcome back, everyone!

Or is it “welcome back, me” since I’m the one who’s been away for a week and missing out on everything?

Hmm.

No matter. We have important thingies to attend to today. In fact, I’m home just in time to help with a cover reveal for one of the WIPpeteers! If you’ve been following along, you might have seen Elaine Jeremiah posting snippets from Reunion of the Heart over the past few months. I haven’t had a chance to read the book yet, but I’ve been enjoying reading the snippets.

Are you ready? Here we go…

RotH-Cover

Ain’t that pretty? And here’s the cover copy…

After a messy breakup with her boyfriend, Anna is feeling fragile. So when her best friend Melissa suggests the two of them go to their school reunion, she’s reluctant as Anna’s school days weren’t her happiest. The evening is going well until she meets the boy who made her school life hell.

But the grown up Will is different and Anna is surprised by the direction her life takes. The reunion sets in motion a series of events that lead Anna to realise things will never be the same again.

Annnnnd a little bit about the author:

Elaine Jeremiah has always enjoyed writing, but it’s only in recent years that she’s begun to devote serious time to it. She’s written lots of short stories, one previous novel that will never see the light of day and a novel which has seen the light of day: ‘The Inheritance’ which she published last year. ‘The Inheritance’ is available on Amazon.

You can make contact with Elaine via her blog: elainejeremiah.co.uk and Twitter: @ElaineJeremiah

Now, we don’t have an exact release date for RotH, but Elaine says it should be out by the end of August. YAY! If this sounds like your kind of story, she’ll be posting details on her blog ASAP, I’m sure.

That’s all the fun we have lined up for today! I’ll be back next week with a few posts: a trip to a mini aquarium (which did not involve them actually miniaturizing fish. I know, I was sad), maybe a post answering some of the questions I’ve had about my experiences with my editor, MAAAAAYBE even a snippet for WIPpet Wednesday. I can’t promise anything… I’m behind on work now, and I’m starting to think that people are actually interested in this next book.

Weird.

In the meantime, why not leave a comment to say hello to Elaine? And if you’re a contemporary romance fan, let us know the name of the last book in that genre you read and enjoyed.

See you next week!

*air kisses*

Man, I missed you guys…

The lovely L Marie asked me some fantastic questions about Bound, and she’s giving away two e-book copies! Get thee to her blog!

L. Marie's avatarEl Space--The Blog of L. Marie

Thanks for dropping by. Today on the blog is the awesome and effervescent Kate Sparkes, blogger extraordinaire, dragon enthusiast, and the author of Bound, which was featured here as a cover reveal. Bound, the first book of a trilogy, was released on June 26. Huzzah! (Click on the cover reveal link if you’d like to read a synopsis of Bound.) To celebrate the release, I’m hosting a giveaway of this very book, which I’ll discuss after I finish talking to Kate. So grab a beverage of choice and make yourself comfortable.

Spotlight on Kate Sparkes

Joanne Guidoccio hosted me on her blog this morning, where I shared a few thoughts on my journey as I wrote and published “Bound.” Also, she spelled my name right, so she gets bonus points!

Thanks for having me, Joanne!

For over a year, I have followed Kate’s blog and enjoyed her delightful take on the long and winding road to publication. Today, Kate is sharing more of that journey and celebrating the release of her debut novel, Bound.

Here’s Kate!

sparkes profile (2)It’s quiet here tonight. The kids are yelling outside, but in here… silence. The book is published. No more scurrying around, making last-minute changes. No more worrying about whether it’s going to be ready in time. Just me, a cat, a cup of tea, and room to breathe.

It feels very different from my life when I started writing this book. That was three and a half years ago– November 2010. Back then the kids were smaller, and always under-foot (or on lap, if I wanted to write). We lived in another province. I knew I wanted to be a writer, but had never actually finished a book. My…

Bound Now Available in E-book

No, it’s not officially launch day. We’re not bumping the party up. The celebration still starts on Thursday and continues on to Monday with blog interviews, the Facebook party, and other fun stuff. If you still want to participate, there’s time! E-mail me. We’ll do lunch. Or blog stuff.

But just in case anyone feels like getting started a little early…

We have links. I’m only telling you guys because I like you.

Amazon.com

Amazon.ca

Kobo

Barnes & Noble

I’ll update here with the iBooks link ASAP. Amazon isn’t showing the paperback for me yet, but my aunt managed to buy it through Amazon.com… so let me know what you see, will you? I don’t know if she has a magic computer, amazing Amazon Fu, or what.

Current e-book price is $2.99. This is an introductory price that will hold until the end of August– regular will be $4.99. This isn’t to pressure anyone to buy, but to say thank you to all of you who are already supporting me and this project. You are amazing.

I’ll be adding the purchase links up top tonight, as well as information on signed paperback copies, which you’ll be able to order through me. Because it would be silly to have someone else sign them. Right? I’m kind of new at this.

So… I guess that’s it for now. I swear we’ll get back to our normal random, fun, zany shenanigans soon. This week is just a wee bit exciting for me.

Wee bit.

*freaks out*

So, what are you up to? Did you have a good weekend? Oh, and can you recommend a new song that I absolutely must listen to? I need some new music.

Welcome to Darmid, where magic is a sin, fairy tales are contraband, and the people live in fear of the Sorcerers on the other side of the mountains.

Rowan Greenwood has everything she’s supposed to want from life—a good family, a bright future, and a proposal from a handsome and wealthy magic hunter. She knows she should be content with what she has. If only she could banish the idea that there’s more to life than marriage and children, or let go of the fascination with magic she’s been forced to suppress since childhood.

When Rowan unknowingly saves the life of one of her people’s most feared enemies, that simple act of compassion rips her from her sheltered life and throws her into a world of magic that’s more beautiful, more seductive, and more dangerous than she ever could have imagined.

Rowan might get everything she ever dreamed of—that is, if the one thing she’s always wanted doesn’t kill her first.

Taste of Fantasy: KL Schwengel’s “First of Her Kind” on Wattpad

The WIPpeteer mistress is feeling generous.

KL Schwengel has decided to post a chapter a week from First of Her Kind on Wattpad. If you’ve been meaning to check out the Darkness and Light series but haven’t had a chance yet, now would be a great time to do it.

You know, what with Wattpad being free and all.

Just don’t blame me if a a chapter a week isn’t enough, and you decide to just buy the book instead of waiting.

Cover Reveal: EVENTIDE

You all know I loved the first book. Can’t wait to get my hands on the next one…

(DRAGONS!)

Do You Believe in Magic?

Fantastic (ha!) thoughts on not leaving magic behind when we grow up. I know I prefer a book with a little magic in it, and I’ll take a true adventure story over a book about real life any day. 🙂

(and I second the recommendation for KL Schwengel’s books. They’re fantastic. Dark, rich Fantasy stuff, not for the faint of heart, but worth a read. Full disclosure, she’s one of my valued critiquers. She kicked my ass, and I thanked her for it. OK, I’m done.)

L. Marie's avatarEl Space--The Blog of L. Marie

I wasn’t going to post today, but the thoughts were fresh in my mind, thanks to a conversation with a friend, and couldn’t be ignored. I’m in a rather soapboxy mood, so feel free to tune in or tune out.

Remember in the movie version of The Wizard of Oz when Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion discovered the “wizard” hiding behind the curtain? This “wizard” tried to play it off by his warning to them to “pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.”

wizardofoz_4675

Too late. He’d already been exposed as a complete sham—a humbug, according to the Scarecrow. He didn’t have a drop of magic within him, and couldn’t really give them what they desired—a brain for the Scarecrow, a heart for the Tin Man, courage for the Cowardly Lion, and a trip home for Dorothy—except through nonmagical means. But there was magic…
