I don’t have a “bucket list.” But if I did, seeing icebergs would have been on it.
And then last weekend, this happened:
I know, the closer ones aren’t huge, and the bigger ones were too far away to get pictures. I still need to get out in a boat to get a better look.
But guys. Icebergs. The ones on the horizon looked like cityscapes and mountain ranges.
*sigh*
Just thought I’d share that. I’m still planning on taking you all on a whale-and-iceberg-watching trip this summer, if we can manage it.
Have I mentioned that Newfoundland is amazing?
ROW80 Update
Hmm, writing stuff. What’s happened this week?
Oh, that whole COVER REVEAL thing happened on Monday. That was kinda cool. I guess. So mainstream. Whatever.
Yeah, I’m not good at being cool and/or hipstery. It was FANTABULISTICAL! Thanks again to everyone who participated, reblogged, tweeted the link out, shared on Facebook, left comments, liked, added to Goodreads, whatever. It all meant so much to me.
And people seemed to like the blurb, so hooray for that! I totally wasn’t tearing my hair out over that until 5 minutes before I sent the e-mails out to participants. Nope. Nossiree. Toooootally cool. *puts on shades, stabs self in eye*
For anyone who missed it, the link to the reveal is here, Bound is on Goodreads for your shelving pleasure here, and the release date is June 26.
So the next thing is to get back at revising book 2, which is my JuNoWriMo project. So far, between the cover reveal, having to take the car in for repairs, and having my younger kiddo back on (short) afternoons at school, I haven’t done anything yet.
Slow clap, I know. I can make it up!
Right now I’m reading through, making notes on what needs to change.
So I guess that means that TECHNICALLY I have a WIP again, so I SUPPOSE I can join in on…
WIPpet Wednesday
Yes, I’m making you sit through ALL of the Wednesday stuff today! Actually, I’m not. You can go.
*waits*
Still here? Excellent. Four sentences for the fourth from Torn. Because I’m generous like that. No context = no spoilers.
“Well.” His face broke into the cruel, heartless smile I knew so well. “We meet again. Where’s your whore?”
That’s it. That’s your WIPpet snippet. Sorry.
For more (and probably longer) entries, visit the WIPpeteers here. Join in, if you’d like– just post a snippet of a work in progress (at your own blog) that relates in some way to today’s date, and be sure to stop by and say hi to everyone else. It’s fun, I promise!

Oh…seriously!??! You’re cruel. So very, very cruel. It warms my heart.
I’ve seen icebergs from a plane, but that’s about it. I’m thinking I need to put Newfoundland on my List of Places I Want to Go.
June 4th, 2014 at 10:00 am
EVERYONE needs to put it on their list! But wait until I move. This town has nothing. But we have plans for next year…
And yeah, I thought you’d appreciate that. 🙂
June 4th, 2014 at 10:02 am
So…wait until you move so we can’t find you? Or wait until you move because the location will be better?
June 4th, 2014 at 10:03 am
The location will be FAR better! MAGICAL, even. Assuming everything works out with transfers and whatnot, there may be more whales, icebergs, and picturesque harbours in our future. 🙂
June 4th, 2014 at 10:05 am
More….dragons? Okay, done deal. You move and I’m coming to visit!
June 4th, 2014 at 10:09 am
You know I can’t guarantee dragons. But it does get pretty foggy out there, and you never know. That’s all I can say.
June 4th, 2014 at 1:57 pm
I agree with Kathi. very very cruel. Love it! 🙂
June 4th, 2014 at 5:24 pm
Well, this guy sounds like a real gem.
Newfoundland looks beautiful. I’d love to visit someday!
June 9th, 2014 at 8:45 am
You should! Just come between July and September if you want the best weather. 🙂
June 4th, 2014 at 6:37 pm
Yay for having a WIP again! Although, you are mean—that wasn’t long enough.
Icebergs are amazing. I’ve never seen one in person, sadly.
June 4th, 2014 at 7:08 pm
How awesome it must be to have a release date! Exciting!
So, um, someone doesn’t seem very happy to see someone, who is obviously happy to see that first someone on at least some level. Cool. 😎
June 5th, 2014 at 12:28 am
Hmmm… I’m guessing who is talking and whom he’s talking to and whom he’s talking about and I really hope you wip out book 2 fast!
June 5th, 2014 at 12:28 am
🙂
June 5th, 2014 at 12:27 pm
Oh wow, that is awesome! Seeing an iceberg is definitely getting added to my bucketlist – I’d never really thought of it before. That’s the trouble with living in the tropics, icebergs are few and far between! 😉
Looking forward to reading the book when it’s ready – although I’m seriously impressed that you’re going to try and do JuNoWriMo whilst finishing up your other book. Good luck with that!
June 5th, 2014 at 2:43 pm
You’ll just have to come visit me some day!
I’m “doing” JuNoWriMo, but I have little hope of winning. The only one I really push myself to win is NaNoWriMo in November. Everything else is just extra motivation.
November is like, hard core, don’t interrupt me, family get your own meals, might not even shower today time. 🙂
June 10th, 2014 at 8:09 am
Haha well then I’ll have to make sure I don’t come for my iceberg visit during November! 😉
June 5th, 2014 at 11:54 pm
Pretty cover…. the bird and the background drew my eye. Kind of like the Mona Lisa and all the detail in the background of that it has. Adds some story to the girl’s presence.
I never had a bucket list either, but…. ooh, icebergs! (Admittedly, rainforest canopy would be in the list too, if I had one… which I don’t.. So it’s not, so..)
As for a short 4 sentence WIPpet… 😛
😀
June 6th, 2014 at 10:11 pm
Icebergs, and huge wonderful bear-dogs. I could do Newfoundland. =)
Congratulations on the iceberg-viewing the potential for dragons, and the WIP.
And for being a tease!
June 6th, 2014 at 10:20 pm
Don’t forget the puffins and whales! You should come visit. 🙂
June 9th, 2014 at 8:32 am
Puffins?! I am so there!
June 9th, 2014 at 8:46 am
And moosies. 😀
June 9th, 2014 at 8:33 am
Oooh, snark! I love snark. Yay for a new WIP! 😀
