Zero.
Yep, there was a Camp NaNo writing marathon yesterday, and my total word count for the weekend is nuthin’.
That’s OK. I can sacrifice for a chance to visit my favourite city.
St. John’s in April isn’t what it is in the summer– or in the winter for that matter. But I took a few pictures for you guys at Bowring Park, which is a place you simply must visit if you’re ever in the city. I’ll get more pics next time. For now: ducks n’ stuff!
Northern Pintail on a pretty pond
Sad, Sad Treeroy Brown, saddest tree in the whole damn town
Spring won’t come until approximately June o’clock, but that’s never stopped a crocus. Such optimists!
That concludes our tour of what I was doing on this weekend when I should have been writing.
Totally worth it. π

Great photos Kate. Love the two headed swan! Hope spring comes to you soon. Here in the sunny (!!) UK it’s finally starting to warm up after an exceptionally (for us) cold winter and spring. I’m thinking that with the weather like it is, spring might get bypassed and we’ll go to full-on summer. But in the UK you can never tell. :s

Sounds like Newfoundland– I guess we’re pretty close, latitudally speaking. π
We do have lovely summers and autumns, but spring kind of sucks.

Spring is usually with us about late Feb/ early Mar but this year it’s taking forever to kick in and it’s only really starting now, which for us is late. But when spring does arrive it’s usually lovely here. We often have a much nicer spring than summer. Last year we had a fantastic warm spring with plenty of sunshine – but then it all went downhill and the rest of the year was very wet!!

Meh, call it an inspirational tour, to prime the imagination pump. Now the writing will really gush out. Right? Riiiight? π

1500 words today… Could be worse! Now to revise the dragony bit. That should go quickly. π

Oooh, nicely done! That’s usually what I’m able to squeeze in before the rest of the day happens.

Better than I’ve done in a while. I’m trying to get used to typing on a larger keyboard, though, and having a hard time. Oh, the typos that there have been! XD

I agree with Jae. One of the faculty advisors of my grad program gave a lecture on the value of getting out in nature, especially when you’re stuck. Your beautiful photos will probably trigger something very special.
